Laser Therapy 101We often get asked about the difference in the laser treatments we offer at Ageless in the Triad Med Spa. There are several different ways to get energy and light into the skin, and all will stimulate your immune system to turn up the collagen and elastin production. Sciton is a leader in the world of laser and light treatments; check out the link for more details on the modalities we offer.

One option for treatment is pulsed light therapy. For this modality we LOVE Sciton’s BBL. Pulsed light generally requires zero downtime and can easily be done over a lunch break! BBL addresses sunspots, redness, rosacea, small veins, acne, and hair removal.

Non ablative laser treatments travel deep into the tissue to cause an “injury” by coagulation. The “downtime” can be slight redness and/or up to a few days of peeling, resulting in smoother, brighter skin. Sciton’s Moxi is one of our fractional non-ablative lasers that is great for clients of any age and is safe for all skin types. It’s also a laser that is safe to be done any time of year.

Ablative lasers are attracted to water, so they target the water in cells and vaporize tissue. The downtime with these lasers varies. Healing can be anywhere from a few days of peeling to a more intense process that takes years off your skin! If you want to smooth wrinkles, these are your best option, and we have several modalities to choose from such as Halo, ProFrac, and TRL.

Your goals guide our choice of treatments, making sure the downtime fits your schedule. Our expert staff would love to discuss your goals in a complimentary consultation and tailor your treatment specifically for you.
