The most common neurotoxins that we use for aesthetic purposes are Botox, Dysport and Jeuveau.
When most people think about neurotoxins, they are thinking of them in the sense that some chemicals can be toxic to the nervous system. What many do not realize is that sometimes altering the structure or function of the nervous system is beneficial, especially in terms of controlling spasms or temporarily relaxing muscles to manage fine lines and wrinkles or control migraines.
At Ageless in the Triad Med Spa, we can help you gain a better understanding of what neurotoxins can do for your appearance. We have three products at our disposal – Botox®, Dysport®, and Jeuveau®. We are happy to go over each of these and develop a plan for services at our Kernersville, North Carolina med spa that will get you the results you envision.
For many years, the only neurotoxins on the market were Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®, which all use botulinm toxin A, released from Clostridium botulinum bacteria, although each is a different form of that toxin. Botox® is the most well-known of the group and is scientifically known as onabotulinumtoxin a. Dysport® is scientifically known as abobotulinumtoxin A and Xeomin® is icobotulinumtoxin A. Jeuveau® is a newcomer to the arena and is scientifically known as prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs. It is the first of the neurotoxins to be developed solely for aesthetic purposes rather than for medical protocols.
This may be more information about these neurotoxins than you needed to know but rest assured that we will thoroughly go over what to expect with each of them and the process involved in choosing one for your situation. Call today to schedule a consultation to discuss any of our physician services and other med spa services.
